The Oukaimeden International School for Astrophysics (OISA) proudly announces its eighth edition, set to take place in November 2024. Since its inception in 2007 at the Cadi Ayyad University Observatory, OISA has emerged as a cornerstone for astronomical education and research in Africa. The school fosters an enriching environment for both emerging and established astronomers from Africa and beyond, promoting extensive knowledge exchange and advancements in astrophysics. This year’s program will delve into the fascinating world of variable stars—central to understanding stellar evolution and the expansion of the universe. Through a series of lectures and hands-on sessions, participants will engage with the latest techniques in data analysis and observational astronomy, leveraging recent copious data from missions like CoRoT, Kepler, and TESS. Join us as we continue to advance Africa’s role in the global astronomical community, exploring new frontiers in the stars.
